Illinois & Michigan Canal

Explore Starved Rock Country by taking a walk along the famous Illinois & Michigan Canal (I & M Canal).

This beautiful 96 mile route runs along the banks of numerous state parks, restored historical sites, and an abundance of wildlife with some of the most distinctive landscapes in Illinois

Shelters and picnic areas have been added and the towpath was renovated for some of the most beautiful hiking and bicycling scenery the state has to offer.
If exercise is a part of your adventure lifestyle while in Starved Rock Country why not enjoy the beautiful splendor of the I & M canal!
